Universal Orlando has it all. Any vacationer looking for fun in the Florida sun is going to find the right entertainment for their interests. Adults get special experiences with bars and clubs, as do little kids with cartoon play areas. But what about teens? Have they been left out? Not at all. You could even go as far as saying Universal Orlando is mostly made for teens. Very few experiences are aimed exclusively at other demographics. That’s why you might find it difficult to narrow it down while planning a teen focused visit. However, we have 5 picks for some of the top experiences at Universal for teens that cover most of the Universal Orlando resort area.
Both Wizarding Worlds
First, off everything about Harry Potter in these parks is ideal. There are many experiences within these worlds, but to save time and give you some other options, we’ll lump them all together. This includes the newly opened attraction Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, the Forbidden Journey and Escape from Gringotts attractions, as well as the Butterbeer, the immersive dining and everything else. Make sure you have Park to Park passes so you can ride the Hogwarts Express from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley, or vice versa.
Revenge of the Mummy
This exciting roller coaster packs psychological thrills into the traditional thrill ride. The special effects and storytelling make this unique roller coaster a lot more fun than it otherwise would be. Enjoy the plot twists and track twists that send you on the run from the vengeful Mummy who seeks to enslave your soul. The sets, animatronics, projection and pyrotechnics make you part of the action like never before. Our teens rank this as one of their absolute favorite rides.
Rip Ride Rockit
This is more than just a record breaking roller coaster, this exciting thrill packed ride comes with a choice of soundtrack. This coaster has a lot of moving parts and a track that manages to loop without inverting; but the star of the show is that you pick what music plays while you ride. You get to choose between Classic Rock/Metal, Pop/Disco, Country, Rap/Hip Hop, and Club/Electronica. Within each genre is a selection of songs. You can buy a souvenir afterward as a ride photo, or music video. It really is a ride you won’t want to miss.
Incredible Hulk Coaster or Bilge Rat Barges
Another incredible roller coaster is the Incredible Hulk Coaster. This is an intense ride with 7 inversions and a top speed of 67 mph. The ride serves as an experiential interpretation of what Bruce Banner feels when he becomes the hulk. The Moment General Ross blasts you with Gamma radiation, you launch into an uncontrollable fury.
This is a lot of fun, but roller coasters aren’t for everybody. Incredible Hulk might be a big ask for some teens. The point of the best experiences at Universal for teens is to have fun. There are other great things for teens to experience that aren’t the highest level of thrill seeker. Don’t be fooled by the cartoony looks of Bilge Rat Barges. This Popeye based attraction is a fun whitewater rapid ride with some solid storytelling elements.
Kala & Tai-Nui Serpentine Body Slides
This is an exciting twin slide at Volcano Bay that is an awesome “Universal for teens” experience to do with a friend. You brace yourselves as you prepare for the twin trap doors to drop you into a twisting and intertwining slide before plunging you into the water in just a matter of a few disorienting seconds. You will want to go again!
The Military Connection: Don’t forget that Universal offers great military discounts on hotels, tickets, and vacation packages as a whole, much like Walt Disney World. Don’t forget the Express Pass so that you can skip the lines!
